在1997年在南澳Clare Valley创立奇李卡努酒庄(Kilikanoon Wines)的Kevin Mitchell是澳洲葡萄酒业的黑马。他是读酿酒工程的科班出身，1993年开始在酒厂工作，经过在多家著名酒厂的历练后，在1997年买下这个酒厂开始了自己的事业。短短几年他已经做出惊人的成绩，在2002年一举获得6个澳洲酒展的冠军奖牌；著名酒评家Robert Parker给予本酒庄非常高的评价： “This is one of the most brilliantly run wineries in Australia, and the quality of the entire portfolio is impressive thanks to the enviable talents of winemaker Kevin Mitchell.”。并且澳洲葡萄酒专家James Halliday也将本酒庄评等为5颗星的最高水准。
